Match Preview: MOBA Looks to Extend Win Streak to 3 Games

Peachtree City's Yellow and Black are looking to gain another three points on the road as they face Tormenta FC in the final Georgia PDL Clásico as Tormenta FC will be joining USL Division III in 2019. Entering the derby, MOBA is hoping to build off their two consecutive wins against Memphis City FC to extend their winning streak and climb the table past the Birmingham Hammers.

After five games into the season, MOBA sits in fourth place in the Deep South Division of the Southern Conference with a record of 2-1-2 and eight points. The Yellow and Black are currently having their best start to a PDL season and sit in fourth place, only behind third placed Birmingham Hammers because of goal difference. MOBA has shown that they have the potential to achieve great things on the pitch and the fans will be hoping they can continue in their good vein of form against Tormenta.

Tormenta is undefeated with a record of 4-0-1 and sit in second place and they've scored ten goals while conceding four goals at the other end. The first meeting of the 2018 season between these two sides ended in an exciting draw one month ago on May 12th in Peachtree City. That matchup showed that both teams can attack and defend well, but tomorrow's matchup will be a great opportunity for both teams to climb the table and show their potential.

Keys to Success:
  • Stay focused: It may still be early in the season, but this current group of players has a real chance to create club history. This is the most successful start to a season in MOBA history, so manager Omar Jarun will want to stress that the players need to stay focused on the task at hand despite their brilliant start.
  • Stay disciplined: This derby is known to have fireworks and drama. The last meeting between these two teams was an open match with end to end goals and had two penalties, one of which was awarded to Tormenta late into the game. They converted the penalty kick and left Peachtree City with a point. To avoid losing out on three points, MOBA will want to be at the top of their game.
