MOBA Soccer Academy Becoming a Hub of PTC Sports

In January 2015, it was announced that the German company MOBA Mobile Automation AG would be meeting with Peachtree City to discuss plans to build a new 50,000 square foot office building and soccer complex on Highway 74. A strange combination of projects, several months later, the project was approved, and construction began almost immediately. In a mere few months, it became arguably one of the best decisions the board has ever made.

Fast forward to December 2016, the new MOBA Soccer Academy is nearing completion, and already the effect it was intended to have on Peachtree City sports is being felt. When the idea was proposed, Mr. Volker Harms said he hoped to provide Peachtree City and the surrounding area with an opportunity to unite out on the pitch, and that is just what happened. The facilities aren't even complete, but the fields are, and that's all we need.

They may be soccer fields, but that doesn't mean only soccer has to be played on them. Elite Lacrosse Tournaments held the Southside Holiday Classic out on the MOBA fields, the largest and most competitive fall tournament in the southeast. More along the lines of soccer, our very own MOBA Upper 90 of the ADASL plays all of their home games at MSA. The academy also played host to the Southern Soccer Academy, Community First Soccer, and the AFC Lightning, along with
the MOBA adults, and just a few days ago, Fayette FĂștbol Club of the FCYSL visited the pitch. In 2017, PDL team Peachtree City MOBA will play their second season of competition, and first in their new home.

MOBA Soccer Academy is being built on the intention of brightening the future of soccer in Georgia, and along with Atlanta United FC of the MLS, Georgia Revolution FC of the NPSL, and PDL rival South Georgia Tormenta FC, soccer is really finding a home here. In a city well-known for its divide of Starr's Mill-McIntosh, MOBA Soccer Academy is uniting all, young and old, out on the pitch, and at the same time, bringing new life to a sport that has been under the radar in the U.S. for almost 30 years. With all the controversy found in the NBA, NFL, and MLB, soccer looks to build a strong relationship with the American people, and looking around Fayette County, that's seems to be happening.
