Young Blood: Analyzing MOBA's Latest Signings - Michael Brezovsky

Defense is a key to winning championships, for if your opponent doesn't score, and you find the net once, you win. As simple as it may seem, nothing about defense is easy, and if you're good at it, you are going to be a commodity for any team to have. A team that struggled protecting their goal last season, MOBA did serve as home to some great defenders in Salomon Lorenzano and Adam Sheikali, however they are going to need some support if Peachtree City is going to become a force in the South Atlantic. With MOBA's latest announced signing, they look to have found some of that support, and from a very likely source.

Michael Brezovsky - University of Dayton

Once again, Plano, Texas serves as a pool of players just waiting to be picked from by the MOBA coaching staff, and the latest player to be drawn is defender Michael Brezovsky. Michael, a native of Plano, had a fantastic youth career with the Dallas Texans, winning four North Texas State Cups, three Disney Cups, and a Dallas Cup. Brezovsky was also a member of the Plano Senior High School men's team. A successful player at the youth level, Brezovsky saw that talent carry over to his collegiate career.

Now a defender for the Dayton Flyers, Michael has seen his role increase significantly over the last three years. Playing in only twelve matches his freshman season, he proved his ability to the coaching staff, and during the 2015 campaign, Michael played in fourteen matches, starting seven, as the Flyers won the A-10 conference tournament and made it to the second round of the NCAA tournament, where they fell to #9 Ohio State 1-1 (4-3 PKs). The Flyers struggled a bit during the 2016 season, as the team went 8-9-3 overall, falling to VCU in the second round of the A-10 conference tournament. Despite that, Michael played his best season as a Flyer, appearing in sixteen games  and accumulating 1086 minutes, experience he will need heading into his senior season.

The real story of Michael Brezovsky, however, lies in his third area of experience. Michael has not only played collegiately, but he has also already shown his talents to the PDL. As a member of the Dayton Dutch Lions of the Great Lakes Division in 2016, Michael played in eleven games, accumulating 990 minutes, third on the team. During the campaign, the Dutch Lions picked up some very notable victories, including a 3-1 victory against Derby City Rovers, and a 1-0 home victory against the 2016 PDL champions, Michigan Bucks. A key part of the Lions' defensive strategy in 2016, Michael now makes the trek down south to join up with Adam Sheikali and Peachtree City MOBA. Undoubtedly a welcome addition to the back line for Peachtree City, Michael's talents will be put to the test in a highly competitive South Atlantic Division.

2016 MOBA Proud MOTY Award

PDL Playoffs kicked off today, thus marking the transition between regular and post season. Now that MOBA's 2016 season is complete, it is finally safe to begin handing out recognition and awards for excellence in the sport, and there is no better prize than receiving the title of 2016 Man of the Year (the association football equivalent of MVP). The sport of football is based around two principles: Pride and Teamwork. However, teamwork does not mean that nobody deserves recognition for outstanding play. A team may work well together and share the ball, but there is always at least one player that truly stands out. And that player, more often than not, receives the Man of the Year award. Match Preview: Peachtree City Open Second Half of Season Against Memphis

After such a promising start to the year that saw MOBA open 2-1-2 and reach the top of the table, back-to-back 2-0 away losses have sparked some fear that this season may degrade into a carbon copy of the previous two.
