Despite a very slow start to the season for Peachtree City, things are finally beginning to come together in the second half of the campaign. After going 0-6-1 in their first seven matches while only scoring six goals, MOBA are now 2-1-0 in their last three with victories on the road against Nashville SC U23 on June 21st and at home against Tri-Cities Otters FC on June 27th, scoring five goals in the process. Things will not be easy going down the final stretch of the season, but Peachtree City find themselves in a great place to finish strong. Facing an Otters team that beat them in both of their previous matchups, MOBA looked to finally get their revenge, and there was no better place than at home. Despite giving up a goal early on, Omar Jarun, who took over head coaching duties from owner Volker Harms, fired up his troops heading into the second half. It may have taken a month and a half and nine games, but things are finally coming together for Peachtree City MOBA. After starting the season 0-6-1, MOBA found themselves at the bottom of the table and searching for an answer. Enter Edmundo Robinson and Todd Fidler. The two midfielder/forwards have been at the center of MOBA's strong run of success over the last three matches, and they look to keep their rolls going into the offseason. Having finally earned their first victory in almost a year on June 21st in Nashville, MOBA needed to fix their home issues if they hoped to fix their season. Returning home to meet Tri-Cities was not going to make that task easy, however. Having played the Otters twice this season, Tri-Cities defeated MOBA in both matches by just one goal, but both of those matches were in Johnson City. For Peachtree City, they need that to ring true over their final four home matches if they hope to dig themselves out of a shallow hole at the bottom of the table. It won't take much to pull MOBA back toward the middle of the table, and a victory against Tri-Cities would be just what they need to get started. After finally getting their first victory of the season on the road against Nashville SC in a 3-2 thriller, Peachtree City went into Irmo, South Carolina with the hopes of getting a second against a desperate SC United side. Hopes don't always equal wins, however, as SC United's Bradlee Baladez scored in the seventeenth minute and MOBA could never find their equalizer in a match that epitomized MOBA's early season goal-scoring troubles. Coming off a 3-2 victory in Nashville on Wednesday, MOBA took the trip across state lines to Irmo, South Carolina for a rematch with SC United Bantams. Having earned their first victory of the year, Peachtree City needed to carry over the momentum and play as they did against Nashville SC if they hoped to defeat the Bantams for the first time in club history. Right out of the gate, it was MOBA who seemed to be on top, as they dominated possession and attack, but they could not find the net. Fifteen minutes passed, and neither team could find the net. With all looking safe for Peachtree City, all it took was a minute for things to get turned around. In the seventeenth minute, it was Bradlee Baladez who got the scoring started off a Leandro Browne assist. Just like that, MOBA were back on the tail end of a 1-0 scoreline, but with the experience of winning under their belt, hopes were in favor of MOBA being able to equalize before halftime. At long last, it has finally happened. Peachtree City MOBA were able to close out Wednesday's match against Nashville SC U23 stronger than any match in the past and steal three points on the road against the second-place team in the division. The victory not only marked Peachtree City's first PDL win since June 22nd of 2016, but it was also the first time that MOBA have defeated Nashville following 6-1 and 2-1 defeats. Going into the final six matches of the season, MOBA hope to carry this new found momentum into South Carolina as they take on an SC United Bantams that came out on top in the last meeting thanks to a late stoppage time winner from Terell Williamson. Heading into Nashville on a seven-match winless streak which featured four one-goal losses, Peachtree City needed to get things turned around in a hurry, but facing a team that had beaten them in the previous two matches without their leading goal scorer in Edmundo Robinson was going to be a tall order. Nobody ever said winning would be easy. Following a below par 0-6-1 start for Peachtree City MOBA, the yellow and black found themselves back in Nashville against a team that had outscored them 8-2 in their first two matchups. If MOBA hoped to have any shot against a dominant Nashville SC team, they were going to need to pull out every trick they could. The match started out heavily in favor of the U23's, as they dominated the attack and possession of the first three minutes. Despite the quick start, the MOBA defense, spearheaded by second-year players Adam Sheikali and Salomon Lorenzano, successfully held Nashville at bay while the offense got their feet beneath them. As the first few minutes ticked by, Peachtree City began to claw back into the match and pose a threat to Nashville keeper William Pyle. It goes without saying that there was a massive increase in competitiveness in the second matchup between Peachtree City MOBA and Nashville SC U23 compared to the first. The May 13th battle between the two sides that ended in a 6-1 Nashville victory was dominated by the U23's, however the June 3rd match in Peachtree City, despite still being won by Nashville 2-1, was a far more intriguing game that made every fan hold their breath until the final whistle. Now, MOBA and Nashville are back in Tennessee for the third and final entry of the series in 2017, as Nashville look to complete the sweep, and Peachtree City hope to spoil Nashville's undefeated home record. Tennessee has not been a fun place to play for Peachtree City in 2017. Following a 6-1 loss in Nashville on opening night and a 1-0 loss in Johnson City on match day five, MOBA hoped to right the ship during their second and final trip to the Tri-Cities. Taking on an Otters team that has been streaking after an 0-3-0 start, MOBA needed to bring their A-game to the hostile environment. The match started off very uneventful, as both sides tried to feel each other out. There were chances here and there, but neither team could find a breakthrough. After thirty minutes of back and forth, aggressive play, it was the Otters who got on the board first. After MOBA failed to clear out a cross, Tri-Cities' Tresor Mbuyu put his foot through it and drove it far post, leaving keeper Nick Nelson out to dry. Nelson, whose only appearance of the season was against Nashville in the 6-1 loss, needed to get out to a good start, and a thirtieth minute goal could not have been good the young keep

Six matches have been played, and nothing has gone to plan for this Peachtree City MOBA team. Five goals have been scored, and they have been scored on fifteen times, while only recording one point from a road draw against South Georgia Tormenta FC. Things need to pick up, and quickly. Less than two weeks ago, MOBA traveled to Johnson City to take on the Otters looking to take advantage of a struggling home side, but instead, an early goal proved to be a winner, as MOBA lost 1-0. This time around, things will surely be different. June 13th marked MOBA's third home match of the season, but home had been anything but kind to them. Falling in both previous matches to Mississippi Brilla FC and Nashville SC U23, respectively, MOBA had only scored one time in those two matches thanks to the brilliance of Khallil Stewart. Taking on an SC United Bantams team that had slipped up in their previous three matches following a hot start, MOBA hoped to finally get themselves into the win c

For the first time all season long, scoring was not the biggest issue for Peachtree City. Following back-to-back one-goal losses, MOBA needed to find some way to get into the win column, and playing against an SC United team that does not defend well may have been the answer. Home had not been very sweet for Peachtree City thus far, however, as they had only scored one goal in their two previous home matches, while allowing two in both. Last season, the matchups between these two teams in the I-20 Derby did not breathe good omens for MOBA, as they lost both games by a one-goal margin, including a late winner from the Bantams in Peachtree City. Rivalries are all over the place, and Tuesday, June 13th, one of these rivalries kicks off its third edition, as SC United Bantams head down Interstate 20 to take on Peachtree City MOBA in the I-20 Derby. 2017 has not been kind to Peachtree City, as pre-season expectations were crushed by the pain of defeat. After three pre-season matchups, MOBA dominated their opponents by a score of 14-3. It has not been the best season for Peachtree City thus far. Heading into Johnson City following a 2-1 home loss against Nashville SC, MOBA needed three points desperately if they hoped to have a shot at making the playoffs. Scoring goals has been a struggle for Peachtree City, and that would need to change if they hoped to steal victory in Johnson City. Pressure off the opening whistle was essential for MOBA in their quest for three points, and that went out the window quickly. Right off the bat, the Otters were on the offensive, and just a couple minutes in, Tri-Cities saw a corner and capitalized. Winger Conner Haney stepped up to take the corner, crossing the ball perfectly into the box, where center-back Sam Jenkins headed it home and put the Otters up one. For the fifth time this season, MOBA saw themselves down a goal in the first half and needed to find some way to retaliate, and even that proved to be a struggle for the yellow and black. Four games into the season, and things have not gone quite to plan for Peachtree City. Sitting at 0-3-1 on the year and currently holding tenth in the division, things need to turn around in a hurry, and MOBA may have just found the break they were looking for. Match five of the PDL season pits Peachtree City MOBA on the road against a struggling Otters team in Johnson City, as Tri-Cities, who are also looking for their first win, play their first match at home. Following a heart-breaking home loss to Nashville SC that saw MOBA cut the lead to one behind the ten-man away side, but eventually fall 2-1. Khallil Stewart recorded his first goal in a MOBA shirt, and Matthew Wooling notched his second assist of the season, however nothing went right for MOBA in the closing twenty minutes, as shot after shot went high or wide. Following a dismal first three games of the season where MOBA only recorded one point and two losses, Peachtree City needed a win badly, however the schedule did not favor them. Facing the team that put six goals past MOBA in the season opener, Peachtree City needed to pull out all the tricks if they hoped to have even a chance against the perfect Nashville SC U23 side. Things got off to a good start in Peachtree City, as the weather cleared up, the fans packed in, and the first whistle blew. MOBA and Nashville battled early for possession, with neither team seeing any real chances. The first real breakthrough for either squad came in the tenth minute, as MOBA midfielder Matthew Wooling took a rip from outside the box, and the Nashville keeper made a diving save and deflected the ball back into play. Okay, let's just take a second and make something clear: nobody ever said Nashville would be a bad team. The first opportunity the city of Nashville had to see Nashville SC in action lied with their U23 squad, so it goes without question that they did everything they could to make a team that could compete and win matches right off the bat. Their first chance to show the PDL what they could do happened to be at home against Peachtree City, and in just one game they showed any doubters that they are not a team to be taken lightly. The season opener (and the 2017 season in general) did not start the way Peachtree City had hoped, as Nashville put four past MOBA keeper Nick Nelson in the first half. MOBA did get on the score sheet in the second half, as Matthew Wooling scored his first goal in MOBA colors, but at that point, it was too little to late for Peachtree City.
