Peachtree City Sign Clayton State Forward Dean Foster and Memphis Defender Aaron Osbourne

Diversity is one of the most important parts of the sport of football, allowing for a number of different personalities, cultures, and abilities to mesh together and make a winning club. From all across the globe, players flock to the United States to make their names known, and many of those players meet and play with US-based players in the PDL as they prepare to head to the professionals. This opportunity to play with all kinds of players helps to develop each individual's skill set, as well as adding to each's repertoire of talent.

Dean Foster - Forward - Clayton State University

A native of Johannesburg, South Africa, forward Dean Foster has been developing his talents since he was four years old, playing for Yaralla FC Australia (2001-02), Panorama Juniors FC (2002-09), Supersport United (2010-11), and Kaizer Chiefs FC (2011-13). During his youth, Foster played in a number of prestigious tournaments including the Manchester United Premier/Nike Cup, the Engen U17 Tournament, and Emfuleni/PSV National Tournament. Prior to the 2015 college season, Foster came to the United States and enrolled at Dalton State College.

After red-shirting the 2015 season, Foster made his first appearance on the pitch in 2016, playing in fourteen matches, making three starts. In his 381 minutes, Foster recorded three goals and four assists as the Roadrunners went 13-3-1, finishing as runners-up in the SSAC Tournament. Following the season, Foster transferred to Clayton State, where he has seen significantly more playing time. Starting all eighteen matches in 2017, Foster finished second on the team in goals with 10 and points with 24 to go along with four assists. Three of his goals were game-winners for the Lakers, as he scored the winner away at Emmanuel on September 3rd, against Montevallo on September 7th, and a clutch free-kick late in the match against Young Harris on October 18th. Clayton State finished the season 8-9-1 overall, making it to the PBC Semi-finals before falling to 1-seed Lander.

Aaron Osbourne - Defender - University of Memphis

The University of Memphis is becoming quite a feeder-school for Peachtree City MOBA, as they have now signed their fourth player from the school. Out of Savannah, Georgia, defender Aaron Osbourne was not always a member of the back-line. At Savannah Christian Prep, Osbourne actually played as a midfielder/forward and starred at the position, scoring thirty-five goals and recording twenty assists. During his four years with the school, Osbourne was named to the All-Greater Savannah First Team and won the All-Greater Savannah Player of the Year and Georgia Class A Player of the Year. Despite such success, Osbourne transitioned to the defender role for his youth club, CESA, before committing to the University of Memphis. With the Tigers, Osbourne spent his first two seasons developing his skills as a defender, only making five appearances in his two years. As he enters his junior and season seasons, look for Osbourne to play a far greater role with the Tigers as his skills are more refined and he gains Richard Mulrooney's trust.

As the new season is just around the corner, the 2018 MOBA roster looks to be loaded with outstanding talent, and Foster and Osbourne just add to that wealth. Dean Foster brings to the club a striker with a ton of pace and speed as well as fantastic dribble control and a quality ability to finish off of free kicks. Aaron Osbourne brings in a newly-converted defender that has a past with scoring the ball that could benefit him in the long run. Under Omar Jarun, Osbourne will have a fantastic opportunity to continue to develop, experience that could prove invaluable for him in the long run. Looking ahead to the season opener on May 12th, expect Peachtree City to be ready to compete right from the get-go.

2016 MOBA Proud MOTY Award

PDL Playoffs kicked off today, thus marking the transition between regular and post season. Now that MOBA's 2016 season is complete, it is finally safe to begin handing out recognition and awards for excellence in the sport, and there is no better prize than receiving the title of 2016 Man of the Year (the association football equivalent of MVP). The sport of football is based around two principles: Pride and Teamwork. However, teamwork does not mean that nobody deserves recognition for outstanding play. A team may work well together and share the ball, but there is always at least one player that truly stands out. And that player, more often than not, receives the Man of the Year award. Match Preview: Peachtree City Open Second Half of Season Against Memphis

After such a promising start to the year that saw MOBA open 2-1-2 and reach the top of the table, back-to-back 2-0 away losses have sparked some fear that this season may degrade into a carbon copy of the previous two. As a result of the two losses and results across the division, South Georgia Tormenta FC and Mississippi Brilla FC are running away with the division, and if MOBA want to get themselves back into the race, it will require an immediate turn around and some immediate success.
