Match Recap: Brezovsky Plays Hero, MOBA Knock off Nashville SC U23 3-2

Image
Nobody ever said winning would be easy. Following a below par 0-6-1 start for Peachtree City MOBA, the yellow and black found themselves back in Nashville against a team that had outscored them 8-2 in their first two matchups. If MOBA hoped to have any shot against a dominant Nashville SC team, they were going to need to pull out every trick they could. The match started out heavily in favor of the U23's, as they dominated the attack and possession of the first three minutes. Despite the quick start, the MOBA defense, spearheaded by second-year players Adam Sheikali and Salomon Lorenzano, successfully held Nashville at bay while the offense got their feet beneath them. As the first few minutes ticked by, Peachtree City began to claw back into the match and pose a threat to Nashville keeper William Pyle. It was Nashville who got the first big chance for either team, however, when Blake Wilson nearly opened the scoring in the seventh minute, however Daniel Olaniran made an exper...

Match Preview: MOBA, Nashville SC set for Final Clash of 2017

Image
It goes without saying that there was a massive increase in competitiveness in the second matchup between Peachtree City MOBA and Nashville SC U23 compared to the first. The May 13th battle between the two sides that ended in a 6-1 Nashville victory was dominated by the U23's, however the June 3rd match in Peachtree City, despite still being won by Nashville 2-1, was a far more intriguing game that made every fan hold their breath until the final whistle. Now, MOBA and Nashville are back in Tennessee for the third and final entry of the series in 2017, as Nashville look to complete the sweep, and Peachtree City hope to spoil Nashville's undefeated home record. Halfway through the year, MOBA are fighting for every point they can get their hands on. Following the first coaching change in franchise history, the results have not been up to expectations, as Peachtree City currently sit at 0-6-1, which is last in the division. Despite winning all of their friendlies against NP...

Match Recap: Winless Streak Continues, MOBA fall to Nashville SC U23 2-1

When things don't go your way, it hurts even the best of us. When things don't go your way for four weeks, it just might kill us. Following a dismal first three games of the season where MOBA only recorded one point and two losses, Peachtree City needed a win badly, however the schedule did not favor them. Facing the team that put six goals past MOBA in the season opener, Peachtree City needed to pull out all the tricks if they hoped to have even a chance against the perfect Nashville SC U23 side. Things got off to a good start in Peachtree City, as the weather cleared up, the fans packed in, and the first whistle blew. MOBA and Nashville battled early for possession, with neither team seeing any real chances. The first real breakthrough for either squad came in the tenth minute, as MOBA midfielder Matthew Wooling took a rip from outside the box, and the Nashville keeper made a diving save and deflected the ball back into play. Things began to shift toward the U23's ...

Match Preview: MOBA, Nashville set for Round 2 in Peachtree City

Okay, let's just take a second and make something clear: nobody ever said Nashville would be a bad team. The first opportunity the city of Nashville had to see Nashville SC in action lied with their U23 squad, so it goes without question that they did everything they could to make a team that could compete and win matches right off the bat. Their first chance to show the PDL what they could do happened to be at home against Peachtree City, and in just one game they showed any doubters that they are not a team to be taken lightly. The season opener (and the 2017 season in general) did not start the way Peachtree City had hoped, as Nashville put four past MOBA keeper Nick Nelson in the first half. MOBA did get on the score sheet in the second half, as Matthew Wooling scored his first goal in MOBA colors, but at that point, it was too little to late for Peachtree City. Following up that 6-1 loss with a 1-1 draw in Statesboro against Tormenta FC and a 2-0 home loss agains...

Match Recap: Early Deficit Proves Too Much to Handle, MOBA Fall to Nashville 6-1

Image
Nobody ever said it was going to be easy. Coming off a strong start in the pre-season, MOBA had high hopes going into to Nashville for the season opener. Nashville, however, had other plans. Coming off their own strong pre-season (be it only one game), Nashville SC U23 saw at their feet an opportunity to come into the league running, and they did just that. Immediately following the opening whistle, Nashville pressed hard. Forcing MOBA into an early foul, the U23's capitalized on their first opportunity of the match, as Martim Galvao put the home side up 1-0 with a free kick goal in the third minute that keeper Nick Nelson had no chance to save. Down a goal for the second straight game, MOBA wanted to turn around and reverse the momentum. They did that, briefly, getting two close shots that had a chance to go in, but in the end found only the end line. Twenty-five minutes later, Nashville found themselves another chance, and somehow took advantage of it. After a shot pi...

Match Preview: MOBA Heads to Nashville for Season Opener

Image
At long last, the season is finally here. The road to the PDL Championship has already been paved, and all that remains is for Peachtree City MOBA to start driving. First stop: Nashville, Tennessee. Opening the 2017 PDL season, MOBA takes on Nashville SC U23 at Vanderbilt Stadium in what has turned into quite the exciting matchup. The pre-season for MOBA was not what anybody expected. Following a 3-9-2 season in 2016, MOBA wanted to get themselves on track, and that started in the pre-season. It was without question that Peachtree City was projected to be a better team than last season, however few suspected them to be quite as good as they started. Starting against an experienced NPSL side in Georgia Revolution FC with a home and home series, followed up by one of the best adult teams in Georgia in the East Point Pumas of Liga MAGG. Heading to Hampton, MOBA surprised the PDL, NPSL, and the soccer community, as they knocked off the Revs 3-0, with goals by Santiago Moore and Todd...
